Conditions and alerts
You'll know when it's worth going out, and when your next window opens, for every place you follow.
You’ll know when it’s worth going out, and when your next window opens. The plan you made in Plan the shot and every place you follow stay connected to the weather and the sky. Viewpoint keeps a page of live conditions for each place, then tells you with smart notifications when the light, the sky or the weather lines up. Conditions and alerts for followed places come with Max; saved Explore plans and their alerts are part of Pro.

A tile for each condition
Every place you follow gets its own page, with a tile for each condition a photographer plans around. Tap a tile and its sheet shows the hour-by-hour detail behind the headline, in the place’s own clock.
- Clear night, golden light and fog
- Snow and storm light, on iPhone and iPad
- Darkness, the sun and the moon
- Light pollution, with the darker places nearby
- Sky events
The tile-by-tile detail is in Conditions.
Alerts belong to a place
Turn alerts on for a place and they are about that place: golden light, fog and clear night skies, plus snow and storm light on iPhone and iPad. Each says when your next window opens.
Quiet by default. You choose which conditions to hear about for each place, and a quiet outlook sends nothing. For the aurora, Viewpoint gives you a heads-up a few hours ahead, and one alert per onset rather than a stream while a storm runs. Read Aurora alerts for how it decides, and Your places for how to turn alerts on and off.

The inbox
News, what is new in each version and offers for your plan arrive in the in-app inbox, so a notification never has to be your only way to read them. See Getting started.
Good to know
- Conditions need a connection. What you last saw stays readable offline, with its age.
