How to

Short guides, one task each, in the order you will usually meet them. Each one says what you will do, the exact steps in the app, what you will see, a tip, and what to check if something looks off.

Plan a shot

  1. Plan your first shot: select your subject and set your camera position, then pick the time.
  2. Set the time precisely: scrub the day, set the exact minute, and jump to any date from the calendar.
  3. Set your lens and teleconverter: match the frame on the map to the lens you will carry.

Plan in 3D (Ultra)

  1. See your shot in 3D: stand at your camera spot, look around, walk and step back.
  2. Find when it lines up: draw a frame on the sky and get the dates and times.
  3. When you have moved the camera: keep a frame true after you change where you stand.

Keep it

  1. Save a plan and get alerts: keep the plan, watch the Location and put the shoot in your calendar.
  2. Use the Plan & Locations widget: your next plans and nearest Locations on the home screen.

The 3D guides need Ultra; the 3D world is in beta. Everything else works on the 2D map in Explore. The sky is computed on your device, so the steps work with no signal unless a guide says otherwise.
